Michelle Carrie McDougall is the founder of the MyShelle Method and a nervous system practitioner specializing in bodywork, education, and coaching.
Her work brings together Neurodevelopmental Primitive Reflex Integration, Touch for Health, Conscious Education Coaching, Somatic Focalizing Meditation, and somatosensory bodywork.
Michelle’s approach was shaped by both professional training and personal experience.
Her journey began through supporting her son’s developmental challenges and deepened through her own experience of lifelong movement and nervous system patterns.
The MyShelle Method was created to help clients understand that physical bracing, emotional protection, sensory overwhelm, relational boundaries, and patterns of receiving are not separate experiences.
They are often part of the same body story.
Michelle’s work is educational, experiential, and deeply respectful of each client’s pace.
Her intention is not to tell the body what it should do.
Her intention is to provide the conditions in which the body can begin to recognize support, connection, and new possibilities.
She developed the MyShelle Method through her own experiences with motherhood, neurodevelopmental reflex integration, body-based healing, and the search for answers beyond conventional approaches.
Michelle's work brings together somatosensory bodywork, primitive reflex integration, nervous system education, and coaching to help women understand the body beneath their reactions.
Michelle deeply believes meaningful change begins when we stop fighting the body and begin building a relationship with it.

Mothering the nervous system is not about being a parent.
Mothering the Nervous System is the philosophy at the heart of the MyShelle Method.
It means learning to respond to your body with awareness, contact, support, and attunement instead of continually trying to correct, pressure, or override it.
It is about learning how to nurturing and care for your body with patience, consistency, curiosity, and love.
Here we learn to offer that support to ourselves.
Here we learn to offer it to someone we love.
And sometimes we need to receive that support from a trained practitioner.
No matter where you begin, the goal is the same, to help your body develop a greater sense of stability so that healing, growth, and connection can unfold from a stronger foundation.
Many women have learned how to care for other people while ignoring their own signals. They may suppress their needs, tolerate discomfort, push through stress, or criticize themselves when their bodies do not cooperate.
Mothering the Nervous System begins when you start nurturing yourself and stop treating your body as something that must be controlled. Focusing on curiosity, compassion, and awareness we start building a deeper relationship within through what the body is communicating.
The bond you build within yourself becomes the foundation for the bonds you build around you.
